Rural Rossendale

Rural Rossendale Walking Festival 2008 Pennine Lancashire

Many people who visit Rossendale for the first time are always pleasantly surprised by the hills and varied walks the area has to offer. Visitors and local residents can now appreciate the Rossendale Valley more fully by taking part in the Rural Rossendale Walking Festival.

This year the walks have a tasty twist to fit in with Taste Lancashire 08 to celebrate Lancashire's great local produce. The 'foodie' walks offer a taste of Rossendale aswell as providing the opportunity to see some of the areas natural and cultural heritage.

The festival is run by volunteers. There are 2 walk leaders per walk (1 of which is a qualified first aider) and Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team will be supporting the event.
